The first day of driving is behind us.

#day1
The first day of driving is behind us. Startig the journey in the morning we did not know what to expect. Fortunately, Brendan our Canadian companion knows the Whitehorse area like his own pocket. We covered 59 kilometers and spent a quiet evening at the lake house owned by our companion’s grandparents.

Beautiful view and sunset combined with a sausage from the campfire made us very happy at this first evening of the trip. We warmed up by the fire. As for the sausage, we decided to try local delicacies, ie elk sausages and bison.

#day2
Overnight at Johnsons Crossing.
Turns out, our first day was just warming up before more intense day second. We had longer route, therefore, driving was little more exhausting. For the next day we scheduled a calmer distance so it will even out.

That day we said goodbye to Brendan and we spent the first night in the tent.

The first night under a tent is also the first evening when we cook on a gas stove so we served chicken in Thai with rice. In the evening we warmed up by the fire.

The first night under a cloud is also a test of our sleeping bags. When the temperature falls below zero at night, their performance is essential. In the morning the bottled water was slightly frozen, fortunately we did not feel the temperature drop and we had butter buds. Thanks to PAJAK!

#day3
The wake up and the first packing of the camp took us almost 3 hours … but we had a supply of food so a new division of weights took us some time.

Delicious breakfast: oatmeal with bananas, coconut flakes, curcuma and peanut butter, and coffee from the espresso machine. Such things are possible only thanks to the mega-efficient #primus oven!

The third day was assumed to be a bit quieter. Less kilometers more breaks to enjoy the route.

As for now, we get to know our bikes. Apart from minor corrections in the settings, to adjust them under their dimensions, we did not have to tinker with them. Bike-bags are also doing well, abandoned over 100 meters from the camp (anti-animal prophylaxis) in the morning were dry inside.
